Poll Results: SharePoint 2010 Implementations Focused on Collaboration (CMS Wire)
With the release of SharePoint 2010 looming, we were curious to know what your plans were — if you had any at all — in regards to implementing the next version of Microsoft's business collaboration platform. Our poll revealed that while many of you are not in a SharePoint frame of mind, those that are seem focused primarily on its collaboration and social media capabilities.

Add Items to a SharePoint List Using Form Code (Channel 9)
In this video demo, Phil Newman, a program manager on the InfoPath team shows how you can write managed code in an InfoPath form to add items to a SharePoint list, and then publish this form as a sandboxed solution to SharePoint.

Chomping at the SharePoint Bit (Redmond Channel Partner)
Mauricio Duran is among numerous Microsoft partners who are counting the days until the company releases SharePoint 2010 -- the first major upgrade of the software giant's rapidly growing collaborative computing platform in three years.

What's Next for Microsoft's Cloud-hosted Business Suite? (ZDNet)
Microsoft has some big changes coming this year for its Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), the Microsoft-cloud-hosted bundle of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Communications Online and Office Live Meeting. A source of mine who was briefed on what’s in the pipeline shared some of the details with me, noting that the information he received was current as of November 2009 (meaning the exact dates and deliverables may vary somewhat by the time the company delivers on them later this year and early next).

Microsoft Plans To Double Retail Store Footprint (ChannelWeb)
Microsoft has revealed plans to double its number of retail stores, but the company appears to have some sort of bias against the retail environment in the Midwest, South, and East Coast regions of the country. On Thursday, the software giant confirmed plans to open Microsoft Stores in Denver and San Diego, adding to the stores it opened last October in Mission Viejo, Calif. and Scottsdale, Ariz.

Google Gains Channel Momentum (Redmond Channel Partner)
One year after launching its channel partner program aimed at offering Google Apps to enterprise customers, Google says it's approaching 1,000 authorized resellers. Moreover, a growing number of those who offer managed services are recommending Google Apps, according to a survey released around the same time.

Why are you upgrading to SharePoint 2010? For Your Macs?! (SharePoint Joel's SharePoint Land)
I heard the something that surprised me, but was pretty cool.  Someone in one of my sessions this morning said, “I’m upgrading to SharePoint 2010 because 20% of my environment are Macs.  I support 5000 users and about 1000 are running Macintosh.  SharePoint 2010 is a huge step in supportability for us.”

SharePoint 2010 Content Management (Never Talk When You Can Nod)
I was asked to write an article about SharePoint 2010's ECM capabilities after the SharePoint conference for SharePointPro Connections magazine. It took a while for them to publish it and given the huge amount of quality SharePoint-related information that they have I thought it might get lost so here's a copy. I tried to stay agnostic - I know that the SharePoint guys will think that I am SharePoint bashing and the traditional ECM guys might complain that I am being too soft on Microsoft but I think that this is a fair representation of the changes. As always - comments are appreciated...
