SharePoint Organization Chart Web Part for SharePoint 2007 Now Available in Bamboo Labs
Published 01/27 courtesy of Bamboo Solutions Community
It's my pleasure to announce the newest addition to Bamboo Labs with the release of the SharePoint Organization Chart Web Part. Combining the power of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 Profiles with Microsoft Silverlight 4 technology, corporations can now quickly display their organizational structure within their MOSS 2007 deployments.
With the SharePoint Organization Chart Web Part, each profile is displayed within information boxes called Business Cards. Business Cards are then organized into a read-only, top-down hierachy. The SharePoint Administrator defines the highest level of the organziation, which is shown in the Web Part as the Top Manager, and also defines what atteibutes from the MOSS 2007 profiles are displayed. Each level below the Top Manager includes user profiles where the Manager attribute matches the Top Manager. Sub-levels of the Organization Chart are created in a like manner where a profile's Manager attribute is matched to the profile listed above that level.
The SharePoint Organization Chart Web Part even offers a search mechanism to allow users to quickly search the MOSS 2007 profile database, exposing the versitility of an Employee Directory.
So why note give it a try today? Download the installation package, and following the online documentation for installation, configuration and usage guides.
As with all releases to Bamboo Labs, the SharePoint Organizaiton Chart Web Part is a fully functional Beta release, and is made available to the community as a free download.
We welcome your feedback in the Bamboo Labs forum.
