Sneak Peek! New Bamboo Rating Column for SharePoint
Published 02/23 courtesy of Bamboo Solutions CommunityI'm excited to share the news that Bamboo will be releasing a new product next month called Bamboo Rating. Bamboo Rating is a custom column you can add to any List or Library which will allow your users (including Read-only and Anonymous users if you so choose) to rate items and pages in SharePoint.
Today, it's my pleasure to provide you with an exclusive inside look (shhhh... top secret!) at the new product.
When initially configuring the column, Bamboo Rating column has three main modes from which to choose:
- True/False - User can choose one of two available options to rate. The control can be Thumbs Up/Down, Green Checkmark/Red X, and Action Buttons. You can choose what each of the two options are (i.e., instead of True/False, use the options Yes/No).
- 5-Star Rating - Select from various "skin" options to color the stars. Choose if user can rate using half stars.
- 10-Point Scale - Allow users to enter a whole value between 1 and 10.
For SharePoint Pages, display the control on the page so users can rate in real-time.
Also with Bamboo Rating column, sort, group, and filter your lists and libraries based on the average rating of each item using out-of-box SharePoint functionality. You can also sort, group, and filter on the number of ratings submitted.
Here are a few screen shots to whet your appetite:

Oh, and before I forget, Bamboo Rating is supported on ALL current SharePoint platforms (WSS v3.0, MOSS 2007, SharePoint Foundation 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010)!
