Product Release Announcement: Password Change Web Part Release 4.0 ... Now It Has a Brain?!!
Published 02/07 courtesy of Bamboo Solutions Community"If I Only Had a Brain" comes from the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz. In the movie, we meet Scarecrow, a simple but effective man whose job was to scare crows away from the fields, but who just wanted one thing: a brain. Scarecrow reminds me of our faithful, effective, yet simple product, Password Change Web Part. It, too, has longed for a brain ... by which I mean, of course, some business intelligence. Well, Bamboo has now given Password Change Web Part exactly that ... and more!
Introducing Password Change Web Part, Release 4.0, enhanced with many essential features:
Let's skip along the yellow brick road and show you just some of the improvements you'll get with this new major release:
Newly Improved Settings Screen
If you are a true Bambooer, you may have noticed, over the past year or so, a new settings interface, providing a better organization of the wealth of options our products come with. These include detailed explanations for each option, saving valuable SharePoint Administrator time:
Rich Control to Display Important Messages to Your Users
Display important messages to users, such as the password policy, contact information, and even the company logo, through a rich text control in the settings screen:
Password Strength Meter
Password security has become a hotter topic than ever, with many users getting their accounts hacked through sheer brute force. It's time to put some "brains" behind the password generation process. In Release 4.0, Bamboo has introduced a new Password Strength Meter. This feature monitors the user as he or she types their password, and provides feedback as to whether the password is a strong one or not.
Match Your Site's Look and Feel
With Password Change Web Part, you can now modify the Web Part's look to match the look of your website, with optional complete control over the Web Part's HTML and CSS.
Big Brother is Watching
What IT Admin likes just giving the keys to the world without some ability to monitor? I know I wouldn't. With Password Change Web Part, an optional audit list can be enabled, tracking every transaction (both failures and successes) in a SharePoint List.
Those are the big ticket changes in the new release. Are you ready to visit Oz? Jump over to the Bamboo storefront and add the trial of Password Change Web Part to your cart to give it a free 30-day fully functional test drive.
