Ricardo Munoz Introduces STP Buenos Aires
Published 01/21 courtesy of Bamboo Solutions Community
With thanks to our host Microsoft -whose Buenos Aires office served as the launching pad for STP South America- the first event of the tour is currently underway and has already been a great success. We've been honored with a great turnout from the local Argentine SharePoint community, and on a summertime Saturday morning at that. In addition to the native-English-speaking STP contingent, local speakers Fernando Hunth, Mauricino Grimberg, and Ariel Garcia will join STP's own Ricardo Munoz in presenting afternoon sessions in the local tongue of Buenos Aires. Sadly, I will not be able to cover those sessions since they'll be presented in Spanish.
Ricardo Munoz is pulling double-duty on the tour, serving as translator for the English-language speakers as necessary throughout the events, in addition to presenting his own session on Migrating to SharePoint 2010. Ricardo also provided an introduction for the event, saying a few words (in Spanish) about each member of the STP gang. I have to admit, there's something slightly disconcerting knowing that someone is talking about you in a language you don't understand, but despite the frequent laughter from attendees during Ricardo's introductions, I'm sure none of us had anything to worry about... right Ricardo? Ricardo?
Shout-outs and cheers are in order for our local sponsors, Latin Share, Perception Group, VEMN Systems, and Aycron IT Solutions, who, in addition to presenting brief company overviews, also provided a delicious breakfast and event swag for all attendees. As always, three cheers for tour sponsors, Fpweb.net and AvePoint, without whom Sharing the Point South America would simply not be possible.
Stay tuned for my reports on Joel's and Mark's sessions!
