This Week in Bamboo (November 13th, 2011 - November 19th, 2011)
Published 11/22 courtesy of Bamboo Solutions CommunityHave you checked out our storefront this week? This week at Bamboo, we launched a major new product: Time Tracking and Management for SharePoint 2010. Do you want to know what Time Tracking and Management is? Give it a try with the 30-day free trial download and also see the announcement blog post by our Product Manager for details. A patch update for Cross List Web Part was also released and that product now uses our latest Web License Manager version 2.0.10.0. For more information about this week's releases, please see below.
SA12A Time Tracking and Management for SharePoint 2010 R1.0
Initial release.
Features:
• Easy-to-use templates for tracking time and reporting progress.
• Detailed timesheets allow team members to accurately report time spent on project tasks.
• Customizable labor categories allow accurate tracking of administrative time, such as vacation and sick time.
• Employees can review past timesheets and view future tasks.
• Intuitive Control Panel provides administrative control of timesheet periods, reports, and features.
• Connectivity with Project Management Central allows project teams to report time spent working on tasks in PM Central projects. Tasks from all projects are listed on the project team member's timesheet.
• Link to a SharePoint Tasks list to automatically add assigned tasks to a team member's timesheet.
• Customizable alerts send reminders to team members and timesheet managers.
• View resource time by reporting period, project, department, and more with Time Management Reporting.
Known Issues:
• When reporting time using Timesheet Entry, the Approver field is not populated with the name of the timesheet manager until the timesheet is submitted.
• If the Timesheet Tasks Data Source setting in the Time Entry Web Part is changed from its previous value (Bamboo List Rollup or SharePoint List), all timesheets created using the original task list are no longer visible in My Timesheets, Timesheet Approval, and Report Center views and reports. Users must re-enter time in affected timesheets. For more information, see KB.12777.
• After copying an item in the Alert Plus Web Part in the "Configure alerts" Control Panel page, mousing over an alert item will display a JavaScript error in the browser. This issue will be addressed in the next patch release.
• In the language files for the Alert Plus Web Part, if you modify text to a value that includes a space, such as changing "Edit" to "Edit Message," a JavaScript error is displayed in the browser. This issue will be addressed in the next patch release.
• When accessing the site using HTTPS, clicking the "Preview Data" button in List Rollup Schema Designer in the "Configure task lists" Control Panel page will display a JavaScript error in the browser. This issue will be addressed in the next patch release.
• If you access the "Configure alerts" Control Panel page (AlertSetup.aspx) to configure alerts and have not installed and configured the Alert Plus Timer Job, the following error is displayed: "OnPreRender:: Could not load file or assembly 'Bamboo.AlertPlus.Backend...". KB.12690 for PM Central describes a similar error and how to remedy it.
Limitations:
• Grouping is case-insensitive in Report Center reports. For example, in a report that groups timesheet data by project, data from two different projects with names "Project A" and "project a" will be grouped together.
• When adding views to the Report Views field for an item in the Report Configuration list, view names are case-sensitive. For example, "Approved Timesheets" and "approved timesheets" are not the same. The text must match the view name configured in the Timesheets list exactly.
• Time Tracking and Management does not currently support assigning multiple users to a task. If multiple users are assigned to a single task, the timesheet will not include the task.
HW09 Cross List Web Part for SharePoint 2010 (1.5.18)
New:
• Cross List Web Part now uses Web License Manager Version 2.0.10.0.
Resolved Bugs:
• The Cross List Web Part does not show the correct data when the parent list includes three or more "Lookup with Picker" columns linked to different lists. Note: "Lookup with Picker" is a third-party application and is not supported by Bamboo Solutions.
No New Known Issues or Limitations
